Dr. Hunter and our entire team at Hunter Orthodontics love giving back to the Glendale community, and this week was no different. As part of National Children’s Dental Health Month, Dr. Hunter on Tuesday donated bookbags and backpacks to all the students and faculty of Happy Valley School.
With February being National Children’s Dental Health Month and with spring sports just around the corner, we thought this would also be an appropriate time to talk about mouth guards and the need to protect your pearly whites. If you play sports, it’s important that you consult Dr. Hunter for special precautions, such as wearing a mouth guard. A protective mouth guard is advised for playing spring sports such as baseball and soccer. Be sure, however, to avoid mouth guards that custom form to your teeth as these will resist any tooth movements Dr. Hunter is trying to achieve.
In case of any accident involving the face, check your mouth and the appliances immediately. If teeth are loosened or the appliances damaged, please schedule an appointment with Hunter Orthodontics. And don’t forget to ask us—Dr. Hunter will provide a mouth guard for any patient in active treatment.
